In an exclusive investigation, authorities have uncovered shocking details about a cybercriminal network known as "The Com", a radical online community with over 1,000 members aged between 11 and 25 from the United States, the UK, Canada, and other regions worldwide. Emerging prominently in recent years, the network engages in cybercrime, blackmail, and digital radicalization, raising alarm in Western societies.

"The Com" consists of main branches, including:

  • Cyber Com: Responsible for hacking systems, stealing data, and deploying ransomware attacks such as BlackCat and Lapsus$.

  • Sextortion Com: Uses sexual blackmail to recruit new members, especially minors, indoctrinating them with extremist ideas that encourage self-harm and illegal content sharing.

The network targets youth through social media platforms and online gaming using manipulation and threats.

International authorities, including the FBI, warn of the severe risks posed by this network, which is also linked to violent activities like "swatting" and cryptocurrency theft. Security agencies urge increased digital awareness and stronger personal data protection.

Safety Tips:

  • Use strong, unique passwords.

  • Avoid sharing personal information or images online.

  • Immediately report any blackmail attempts to the police or the IC3 Cybercrime Center.

Further details on the network’s "darker branch" will be released in a follow-up report. Stay tuned for the latest updates!
